CoteBio project is realized under several legal frameworks:
At the ANR level, a Consortium Agreement has been discussed and signed between the project partners.
At the national level, studying an exotic macro-organism useful for plant protection requires confined conditions that are validated by ANSES (National Agency for Sanitary Security), then by the DGAL (Direction générale de l’Agriculture) and finally by a letter from the Direction régionale et interdépartementale de l’alimentation, de l’agriculture et de la forêt :
IDF-20 17-01-26-032 – Arrêté relatif à une autorisation d’entrée sur le territoire en milieu confiné du macro-organisme Cotesia sesamiae Cameron (Hymenoptera, Braconidae, Microgasterinae).
At the international level, the exchange of biological material is regulated by the Nagoya Protocol on Access to Genetic Resources and the Fair and Equitable Sharing of Benefits Arising from their Utilization. Cotesia typhae is not present in France and strains studied in the CoteBio project come from Kenya. Thus a Memorandum of Agreement has been discussed and signed between Kenyan national and local authorities, and the CoteBio French and Kenyan partners.
